The Sony Reader is a Digital Book which measure 6.9 inches x 4.9 inches x 0.5 inches. If you are not good in this measurement, you can think of the Sony Reader as smaller then most of the paper backs that you get in the market. The screen is specially designed to give the contrast just like the ordinary books you read. It is pleasing on your eyes and you can use the Digital Book even in daylight. With 180 deg viewing angle, you can read it easily from the sides too.

A rechargeable battery powers the digital book and you can use the once charged battery for up to 7500 page turns! You can completely recharge it in 4 hrs time.

The memory that comes with the Sony Reader is 64 MB and there is a slot for adding memory cards. If you have spare memory cards, you can load them with the e-books you want so that you can read them on the move.

Do not think that this digital book can be used for just reading books, it is more than that. You can play audio files like MP3 and AAC in it. You can also view JPEG images in that Sony Reader.

This is an excellent product for those who like to read and carry books while they move. Imagine storing hundreds of books in this Digital Book. All this comes for just around $300.

Product Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Just came across a product from Peripheral Enhancements – Edge DiskGO 32 GB USB Flash Drive. There were days when we used to carry that flat 3.5 inch floppy disk drive which was just 1.44 MB. Couldn’t imagine, we are now carrying those days hard disk in our pocket.

With 32 GB Flash Drive you could carry so much data. This product is just 0.5oz and with a dimension of 0.8” (width) x 0.4” (height) x 3” (depth). You need a high speed USB interface to use this device efficiently. It also supports encryption. Almost all the popular operating systems support this USB flash drive. EasyBoot and Cryptarchiver Lite are the software included with this device. With this software you can encrypt your files and even lock the folders. With a price tag of $410, you might even think that you could buy a desktop computer. But, so much of compact flash storage is for somebody who needs it. I don’t know how many of you would need so much of storage.

Yes, it has become a reality with the Blu-ray Disc which uses a blue-violet laser beam to record data in the disc.

A single layer Blu-ray Disc stores 25GB of data and a double layer Blu-ray Disc can store 50 GB of data in it. This means that is like a portable hard disk. Imagine storing around 50 movies in a single disc!

A host of manufacturers in the consumer electronics field manufacture this Blu-ray Disc. Apple, JVC, LG, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sony, Dell, Hitachi and many others are in this foray to manufacture Blu-ray Disc.

You need Blu-ray Players to play the Blu-ray Discs. These players cost between $400 and $800.

So, what will happen to the existing DVDs that you have? Can you play them in the Blu-ray players? Yes, you can. The Blu-ray players can play the existing DVDs by upscaling them. With that you will get good quality picture with your present DVD collection, if you play them in the Blu-ray Players.
